Grade 9 Information

Hello Freshmen and Families,

Welcome to HHS — your new “home” for the next four years!

You may find yourself reflecting on your elementary and middle school experiences and wondering, “How am I already in high school?” And if you’re not, your parents or guardians probably are! Transitioning from middle to high school can stir up a mix of emotions — from the nerves of entering a larger school where students from both middle schools come together, to the excitement of all that HHS has to offer: a wide range of academic courses, clubs (including WIN5), fine arts programs, and athletics.

At HHS, we emphasize PRIDE — Perseverance, Respect, Involvement, Discipline, and Excellence. You’ll hear about PRIDE often during your time here, and I hope it becomes a compass for your choices and actions each day.

As you begin 9th grade, I encourage you to jump in and get involved. Find what excites you and be an active part of our school community. Success will look different for everyone — and that’s okay. Whatever your version of success is, my hope is that you strive to be your best self every single day.

If you ever have questions or need support, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me or your school counselor. Here’s to a strong and memorable start to your high school journey!
