Hempfield Football Spring Showcase This Wednesday

Support our Black Knights at their Spring Showcase Football game at the stadium this Wednesday, May 20, from 6-7:30 p.m. This event is free and geared toward our Hempfield youth. The football team will conduct its last spring practice through a series of competitive drills, then invite the youth onto the field to either catch or run for a touchdown! One hundred (100) youth will receive a free mini football that can be used for autographs from players. Red and Black Showcase

Principal’s Message

HHS Community,

Our students did a great job with their Keystone exams last week and with navigating our special schedules. We will continue with Keystone testing and our special testing schedules on Monday & Tuesday this week. Non-testing students should plan to arrive by 10:00am in order to be on time for the start of their Pd1 class, which will begin at 10:05am. Non-testing students should enter HHS through the rear cafeteria entrance next to the pre-school playground or the Main Franklin Entrance starting at 9:45am. Students will remain in the Café until testing is complete.

During these days all bus transportation will operate as normal. Any student who needs transportation to school should ride their bus as usual. We will take daily attendance in 1st period after 10:05AM. Breakfast will be served as usual from 7:20-7:40AM. There will be no breakfast served for students arriving after 7:40am. All special schedules are posted in the Schoology calendar.

With the school year coming to a close, if you would like to recognize a staff member for Trying New Things and/or going above and beyond for our students you can nominate them HERE, and we will recognize them at our faculty meeting.

Finally, we have 9 school days remaining in the semester. Two of these days we have Keystone testing schedules, and two of the days are early dismissal schedules. Therefore, students only have five regular schedule days this semester to handle all their business and to finish strong. Please help encourage your student to be where they are supposed be, when they’re supposed to be there, doing what they’re supposed to be doing, to the best of their ability, and with consistency.

Thank you for all that you do to support our students and have a wonderful week!

~Dr. Brossman

We have received some questions about Senior Photography with our new vendor, CADY. As we mentioned in the May 6th post, transitioning to a new process always involves some changes. CADY does not offer on-campus photography at HHS until later in the summer. We will announce six dates in August through October when students can get photos without paying a sitting fee.

Students also have the option to get senior photography completed at one of CADY’s facilities. The closest of which is their brand-new location at 411 Eagleview Blvd, Exton, PA 19341. Students who choose to utilize this option must pay a sitting fee but will have a variety of high-quality options.

At this time, the website may appear to show only a sitting fee as an option, but the free sessions at HHS will become available later this summer. We know that families are receiving email communication from CADY. For families unsure about how to proceed, please don’t feel pressured to take action now. We will share more information with students at the Senior Year meetings hosted by Mr. Snitzer at the end of this school year. We will also continue to share information on Schoology and through the Hempfield E-news.

If you have already paid the sitting fee and would like a refund, we will provide a number for families to call as soon as we receive it. Thank you for your patience as we work through this new process.

 Principal’s Message

Happy Mother’s Day!

HHS Community,

Saturday night the Class of ’26 showed up as the best versions of themselves for a fabulous Midnight Masquerade themed prom at the Eden Resort. Dinner, dancing, and memories made with friends highlighted the evening. It’s hard to believe Graduation is just 16 days away! Parent/Guardians be sure to familiarize yourself with the Commencement information available on our website HERE.

Scoring proficient or advanced on the Keystone Exams is the clearest and easiest Pathway to Graduation. HHS will be administering Keystone Exams this week for students enrolled in Algebra 1B, Biology, or English 10.  We will be running special schedules for Keystone exams Thursday May 14th thru Tuesday May 19th. We will use the same format as we used in January. Students who are not testing do not need to be in school during the testing window.

During these four days all bus transportation will operate as normal.

Thank you for all that you do to support our students and have a wonderful week!
